A Wedding

Our niece and my husband's goddaughter got married right before Christmas and I wanted to share with you some pictures from that day and the card I made for the new happy couple.
Here is Codi (our niece) and her new husband Crit after they said their "I Do's". We had a nice day but a little cold for standing outside waiting for them to come out.
Here is a picture of my family before the wedding all dressed up and looking nice.

Our youngest, Jordan, was in the wedding. She is Codi's cousin and also her godmother. She asked her to help carry up the gifts during the wedding. This was a Catholic Wedding and they have the "gifts" brought up to the front of the church for communion.

She looked so cute walking up the aisle during the ceremony.

This is our oldest daughter, Kaitlyn. She is also Codi's cousin and was asked to help hand out programs to the guests as they came into the church.

And now onto my card I made for the couple. This card uses the stamp set called Together Forever, the "e" from Schoolbook Serif Alphabet, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel & Very Vanilla Cardstock, the brown felt ribbon from the Alpine Ribbon Originals out of the Holiday Mini, Scallop Circle, 1 1/4" Circle & 1 3/8" Circle Punches, The Big Shot with the Top Note Die and an embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I believe the name of the embossing folder is swirls, but not sure.

I just love the look of that brown felt ribbon we have right now in the Holiday Mini!!

Have a great day!!

Merry Christmas Ornaments

These ornaments are so fun to make!! Can you guess what stamp set I used to make them??

Inspired by Nature!!
Can you see it now?? That's right. There on the ornaments is the "grass" from that stamp set. I inked the grass image in VersaMark and stamped it on Real Red Cardstock. Using Clear Embossing Powder I embossed the grass image. Using my 1 3/8" Circle Punch I punched out two circles. The tops of the ornaments is Brushed Silver Cardstock punched out with 3/4" Circle Punch and then cut in half. I used the 1/4" Circle Punch to decorate the ornament with Baja Breeze Cardstock. The ornaments are hanging from the yummy ribbon from the Alpine Ribbon Pack that is in the Holiday Mini with the Silver Elastic Cord that is also in the Holiday Mini. The DSP is Ski Slope and that too is in the Holiday Mini. The tag is made with the Curly Label Punch Bundle and I also used the Ticket Punch, The Big Shot and the Top Note Die.

These ornaments were inspired by Donna. I saw her card and knew I just had to try making these ornaments. Too Stinkin' Cute!!!! Thanks Donna for the inspiration!!!

A Cute Santa!!

Isn't he just the cutest thing ever?? I have been seeing these kinds of cards all over the blogs and Splitcoast so I thought I would try my hand at one. Let me tell you he was so much fun putting together!!! I tried different sized circle punches and finally decided on the size I used for this card and love how it turned out!!!! He uses lots of punches and there is no stamping at all unless you stamp the inside of the card.

I used Blush Blossom Cardstock for the base (skin) of my card and also used Whisper White, Real Red & Basic Black Cardstock.
Beard and Tassel on Hat-Scallop Punch
Hair, Eyebrows & Mustache-1" Circle Punch (I cut them in half for the eyebrows & mustache)
Nose, Eyes & Mouth-3/4" Circle Punch (I cut the mouth one in half)
uni-ball Signo Gel Pen for eyes
Many Merry Messages Stamp Set for message on inside of card.

I actually made this card for a group of 17 Preschoolers at Tri-Cap (this is an organization that deals with children that need some extra help and it is funded by the state) to make for their Christmas Card for their parents. I know one of the ladies that works there and this is the second year in a row I have gone there one afternoon to help the children make a Christmas Card. It is such a great experience for me to be able to help these children and watch them have so much fun putting their cards together. They really enjoy it!!! For this card I did have all the pieces punched out for them. They just put the card together, stamped a saying on the inside, wrote their name and then the teacher is going to put a picture of each child in their card so they can give the card to their parents for Christmas and also tell their parents that they got to make the card themselves.

Simple Thank You Card

This card was done for my SCS Group Challenge #4 posted by Sue. Our challenge was to use only Black & White on a card. This is what I came up with. I needed a very simple but nice Thank You card for my sister so I pulled out this retired stamp set called Artfully Asian (I just had to have this stamp set when it retired in the last catalog!! Have I ever used it since I got it before it was gone--NOoooo!!!). You can't see it at all but I did use one of the stamps in this set and embossed the image all over the black card. It looks great in person I swear!!!

I again pulled out my Big Shot and used the ever so popular Top Note Die and a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. I don't remember the name of the one I used but they do work great with our Big Shot!! I also used the Key Tag & Designer Label Punches and the Black Gingham Ribbon.

These challenges are so much fun (when I find the time to finish them!!).

Top Note Bigz Die
113463
Price: $21.95
You can use the Top Note die to create cellophane bag toppers from any piece of card stock or Designer Series paper. Simply cut image using the die, stamp or embellish it, and fold it over the top of a cellophane bag (fold in half lengthwise for medium bags and widthwise for small bags). Voila! You’ve made a custom bag topper in no time! ■ Top Note die cuts also make beautiful cards, journaling blocks, labels, and bookplates. ■ To use the Top Note die, you’ll need a Sizzix Big Shot machine and Standard Cutting Pads. ■ 5-1/2″ x 6″

Holiday Cheer Christmas Tree

Can you believe I made this adorable tree using my Big Shot?? Well I did and I love it!!!! I used the Scallop Circle Bigz Die in my Big Shot. I then cut the scallop circle into fourths. After that I just trimmed the top two layers a little so they stacked nicely on top of each other to form a tree. Too Stinkin' Cute!!!!

I also used our Holiday Treasures DSP, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette & Old Olive Cardstock, Designer Buttons, Silver Elastic Cord (which is in the Holiday Mini) and Heritage Holiday Stamp Set

This card was also done for my SCS Challenge #3. I can't believe it has taken me this long to get this challenge done but I finally did!! Danielle posted our challenge challenging us to use her sketch to make a card. This is what I came up with. I hope you all like it as much as I do!! I also did get SCS Challenge #4 done too so I will be posting that one this week. Stay tuned for that one.
