UDI Sketch Challenge #59

It is time for another Sketch Challenge over at the UDI Blog and this one was a fun one!! I needed to make an extra special birthday card for my mom whose birthday is Monday, November 30th. She will be 60 this year. She sure does not look it or act like she should be 60 years old!!
This card is so simple but elegant looking!! I really do hate that this ribbon is now retired!! This is one of my all time favorite In Colors that Stampin' Up! has had, Riding Hood Red.
I started with a Very Vanilla Cardstock base, added a strip of Riding Hood Red Cardstock. I then took a strip of Very Vanilla Cardstock, paper pierced it using our Paper Piercing Tool and the Paper Piercing Template from the Mat Pack and then using the Distressing Tool from the Cutter Kit I distressed the top and bottom edges. I tied the card with our now retired Riding Hood Red 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and used a Very Vanilla 5/8" Jumbo Brad in the center of the bow. For my sentiment I used our Word Window punch and the Chit Chat Rub-Ons in Chocolate Chip.

I believe my mom will just love her card!! AND I am sure she will have an awesome birthday too!!! We all love you mom!!!!

Make sure you check out the UDI Blog and see what everyone else has done with this same sketch.

Have a great day!!
