Swappin' with my SisTAHs

Sorry about that!! I uploaded these pictures and instead of hitting save I hit publish so you all saw a post with just pictures on it and then I had to delete it. Sometimes doing multiple things at once does not pay off!!

I have mentioned before that I do a monthly card swap with my team members. I create a sign up database in our Yahoo Group, give them a deadline to sign up and then a due date for the cards. We make a card for each person that signs up. We do make full cards so that the hobby demonstrators can participate too, they love having ready made cards to use in everyday life.

I do ask for ladies to sign up as our Card Swap Hostess and what they get to do is pick the theme for that month. Last month our Card Swap Hostess was Denise Schnarr and she wanted us to make Get Well Cards. I just love seeing what my team members come up with!!

For my card I used Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler & Whisper White Card Stock, Natural Hemp Twine, Perfectly Penned Stamp Set, 2 1/2" Circle & 1 3/4" Circle Punches and my Big Shot with the Chevron Embossing Folder & Floral Frames Framelits.

I do allow my team members to use anything, even if it is retired, as long as it is Stampin' Up! products. This helps with the hobby demonstrators too. They can use what supplies they have on hand, get great ideas and are able to use the cards. It is a win win for everyone!!

Have a great day and keep cool!! We are experiencing 105+ weather here in Southern Indiana with no sight of rain anytime soon. And I wanted to send out my prayers to everyone that is being effected by the fires in Colorado. My heart is breaking for you all right now and am doing my best to pray for safety and rain!!

A Butterfly of a Parade

Still playing catch up, the story of my life!! Here is a layout we did in my Scrapbooking Clubs in May. Used lots of retiring items, one last chance to show it off before it was gone forever.

This layout showcases the now retired Textured Card Stock. I found a DSP that had colors in it that I had enough for 40 layouts using different colored Textured Card Stock. If the lady showed up at club they got to pick from Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride & Wild Wasabi Textured Card Stock everyone else got kits with a random color. I wanted them to see how this card stock looked when scrapbooking so they could order some before Stampin' Up! retired all of it. I honestly did not use this kind of card stock a lot when we did sell it because I could not get enough of it for everyone in my clubs. You could only order it in assortment packs so getting enough for everyone in one color would have cost me a fortune!! I do love this kind of card stock so I did stock up on it when it was on sell for personal use.

We used the Just Add Cake DSP, Peach Parfait Textured Card Stock, Poppy Parade, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron & Whisper White Card Stock, Butterfly Prints & Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Sets, Butterfly Punch and my Big Shot with the Tasteful Trim xl Die & Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Sizzlits Dies.

This was a fun one to put together. Very simple but striking. I am still working on how to photograph layouts so if you have any tips or tricks please let me know!!

Have a great day!!

R & T

Here is a layout I came up with to showcase how you could use the Simply Scored Scoring Tool with Scrapbooking. I know the photos are not the best to see all the detail but believe me they are there.

This layout uses the now retired Domestic Goddess DSP, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight & Melon Mambo Card Stock, retired Fabric Brads, Simply Scored Scoring Tool and my Big Shot with the now retired Serif Essentials Alphabet.

First, I showed them that they could make these flowers in any size. They are lots of fun to make!! I usually use a strip 12" longs and depending on the width of the strip will depend on how big I what the flower. For layouts I like to score every 1/4" so the flower is not so bulky.

I also wanted to showcase the new Simply Scored Diagonal Plate and how to use it with Scrapbooking. First, I just used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and scored lines into the Baja Breeze Card Stock ever 1/4". I then pulled out the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate, placed it onto my scoring tool and scored every 1" in both directions to create a criss-cross design on my Daffodil Delight Card Stock. These look awesome in person!!

How have you used your new scoring tools in your scrapbooking? I would love to hear your ideas!!

Have a great day!!

Happy Anniversary

My mom called the other night and needed an Anniversary Card for the next day. I had just got done with club and was going back upstairs when she called so needless to say I was tired and ready for bed. Since she needed it right away I ran back downstairs, checked out my Cards Board on Pinterest and found THIS CARD. I simply CASE'd it (copy and share with everyone). Makes life so much more nicer!!!

For my card I just changed the color of DSP, used a different butterfly and stamp set. My card uses the Regals Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red & Pear Pizzazz Card Stock, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Elegant Butterfly & 3/16" Corner Punches, Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and my Big Shot with the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die.

I just love our new butter punch!! So elegant, hence it's name!!!

Well I am happy to report my mom loved the card and I saved a lot of time by just CASE'ing my card.

Have a great day!!

My Disney Swap

On my recent Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Disney we did a Demonstrator Swap. We were asked several months ahead of time if we wanted to participate in a swap with other demonstrators that would be on the Incentive Trip. I signed up and only had to make 26 swap cards. When we got to Disney we just handed in our swaps and Stampin' Up! took care of everything else for us. The night of Share Night we got a bag of swaps returned to us that did not include one of our own swaps. It was nice to get an assortment of awesome swaps back without having to do the swapping!!

This is the card I made for swapping. It was kind of hard to decide on a design since the catalog was getting ready to retire and so was all the Designer Series Paper!! I went the easy route and used the Summer Smooches DSP that Stampin' Up! released early and was going to be included in the upcoming catalog. I also could not come up with an easy design and once again relied on Pinterest for my inspiration!! I have seen banners on EVERYTHING lately so that is what I went with!!
Follow Me on Pinterest

This card uses Crumb Cake & Whisper White Card Stock, Summer Smooches DSP, White Baker's Twine, Bright Blossoms & Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and the Decorative Label Punch.

These cards went together really fast considering I waiting until the day before we left to make them!! Oh why oh why do I procrastinate so much!!??!! That is something I am going to try and work on this year. Wish me good luck!!

Have a great day!!

It's a Lego Kind of Birthday

I found this awesome card on Pinterest with Lego's on it and knew I just had to make this card for my Nephew, Joseph. He is a HUGE fan of Lego's and I knew he would just love it!!!

For this card I used Polka Dot Parade DSP, Pacific Point, Real Red, Daffodil Delight & Whisper White Card Stock, Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, un-ball Signo Gel Pen, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and Delightful Dozen Stamp Set.

Using the circle shape punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack punch all the circles you need, sponge all edges using the same ink color of card stock and adhere to same colored card stock using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I know Joseph will love his birthday card and I had fun putting it together!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Have a great day!!

Color Coach Challenge

After returning home from Stampin' Up!'s Leadership I started a Team Meeting Color Coach Challenge with my SisTAHs. I heard this in one of the classes I took and just loved the idea!! And it is kind of an award for those that come to the meetings. I find a sketch from past Stampin' Success Magazines, pick from the Color Coach and bag all the card stock and sketch for those that come to the meeting. I hand them out and if they complete the challenge by the next meeting they receive a prize from me (if they can't come to the meeting I still reward them for doing the challenge as long as they post it to our Team Yahoo Group for all to see).

My SisTAHs have really taken to this challenge and tell me it has helped them step outside their box when it comes to color combos and/or the sketch. Here is my card for the very first challenge I gave them back in February. I picked the color Rose Red and in the Color Coach it said to pair it with River Rock and Not Quiet Navy. They are allowed to add one neutral and any accessories to their card (as long as they are these colors or that one neutral).

This card uses Rose Red, River Rock, Not Quite Navy & Whisper White Card Stock, Blossom & 1" Circle Punches, Designer Buttons, Not Quite Navy 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, VersaMarker and a retired stamp set that I can't think of the name (not at home right now).

I will be sharing all the other challenge cards with you shortly. I need to get caught up with my picture taking and posting!! Been so busy lately!!

Have a great day!!
